Man Held In Murder of Muslim Men, Says APD Police


Muhammed Syed, he New Mexico man suspected of murdering four Muslim victims – and charged so far in the deaths of two of them – has been ordered to be held without bond pending trial as prosecutors argued that he was a danger to his own family and the greater community.

Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, has announced that John Seibel was sentenced on Aug. 2 to 17 years and six months in prison. Seibel, 26, of Albuquerque, pleaded guilty on March 15 to two counts of distribution of 50 grams and more of a substance and mixture containing methamphetamine, four counts of distribution of 40 grams and more of fentanyl, two counts of distribution of 500 grams and more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine, and one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. In his plea, Seibel admitted to leading a drug trafficking organization that distributed methamphetamine and fentanyl. According to his plea agreement and other court records, on several occasions between April 1, 2021, and June 15, 2021, Seibel sold drugs to an undercover agent from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Road Rage Shooting Suspect To Be Held Without Bail, Says Judge

  Joseph Gonzales, the brother of convicted murderer Fabian Gonzales, will remain behind bars until trial. The state asked the court to keep 44-year-old Gonzales locked up after Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies say he shot and killed Abner Antillon in the South Valley in August over an argument about speeding, reports KRQE TV. Prosecutors showed security camera footage that captured the killing of Antillon and Gonzales’s reaction. Antillon sped by in his truck and Gonzales yelled at him to slow down. Antillon then put the pickup in reverse, stopped, and the two began arguing.

APD Arrests 16 Repeat Offenders During Organized Retail Crime Operation

The Albuquerque Police Department in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office working an organized retail crime operation arrested 16 repeat offenders for shoplifting. On August 24th and 25th, officers with Northeast and Northwest PRT were working with the Organized Crime Unit and the Attorney General’s Office on a shoplifting tact plan with two local big-box retailers.
